Anand Warehouse

A two-hundred-year-old godown turned demanding contemporary-art space.

Event venue

A two-hundred-year-old godown on Bazaar Road in Mattancherry, built into the trading life of the port and used for pepper, grain, and timber under the Dutch and later the British. It became a Kochi-Muziris Biennale venue, including a 2025–26 exhibition of eight politically charged works dealing with subjects such as water crisis and the Parliament of Ghosts. The warehouse's old commercial character remains part of the experience: this is a historic trading building reused as a demanding contemporary-art space.
