Kundan Gyatso draws from the indigenous knowledge and lived beliefs of the Ladakhi people. Its amorphous form echoes the visual language of traditional Thangkas, carrying memory through shape rather than image. The rising extensions gesture toward impermanence and the fleeting nature of life through swirling clouds. The deep blue surface holds the cold Himalayan sky: vast, still, and unbounded. The textures of the work borrow from the region's rugged terrain which is wind-worn, enduring, and resilient.
