In his large-scale paintings, Abhijit observes the life of the bicycle, the humble two-wheeled 'friend of the poor', in his own words. From rural to urban spaces, the cycle becomes a mode of upliftment, traversing every terrain.

As a technology that imbibes mobility, socio-economic and otherwise, it appears as an unmistakable companion for Abhijit, who first acquired a cycle as a vehicle of freedom. As the artist notes, there is no cost to the cycle other than providing two drops of Mobil on the chain and ball bearings. Repair shops form an ecosystem in themselves.

In his expressive impasto work, the milk distributor comes into juxtaposition with the mother figure, in the form of a dog and its litter. As an extension of this, in a commissioned sculptural accompaniment, Abhijit explores the form of the milk pail, a container of nourishment and care.
